  1. Newest Eagle Scout

    2. Congratulations to Troop 142's newest Eagle Scout, Jason Fisher! His Eagle project involved planning and overseeing areas of landcaping of St. Michael Lutheran Church, our Charter Organization. Jason's Eagle Court of Honor will take place at St. Michael Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 20, at 7:15 PM. Please plan to show your scout spirit, one of the requirements for advancement in BSA, and attend this very special troop celebration. Don't forget to RSVP to the invitation you should have received in the mail.

  2. Ricketts Glen State Park

    3. On April 13-15, a group of 15 from our troop enjoyed a weekend of camping and hiking when they travelled to this awesome PA state park known for its old-growth forest and waterfalls. Many thanks to Scoutmaster Ken Burkhardt, Jon Cowart, Greg Myers, and Ryan Welch for providing adult leadership on the trip. Also thanks to Chip Powell for handling reservations and trip forms.

  3. Ohiopyle Rafting Trip

    4. Troop 142 is planning a rafting trip on the Youghiogheny River over the Memorial Day weekend. Mark your calendar for May 26-28 and plan to join us on this fun and adventurous trip. Parents and older siblings are free to come along. The deadline for turning in permission slips has already passed. If you have any questions, please contact Warren Mason.   4. Young Eagles - Taking to the Sky

    5. Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 19, and join Troop 142 when they take to the sky as part of the Young Eagles program. Find out more about this free opportunity at www.youngeagles.org/flightplan/flight.asp and be on the look out for further details coming soon.

  5. Car Wash

    6. Troop 142 will sponsor a car wash fundraiser on Sunday, June 10, at Landhope Farms, intersection of Routes 82 and 926. Money raised will be used toward the operating costs of the troop. Many thanks to Assistant Scoutmaster Barbara Siegel for coordinating. So mark your calendar and look for more details to follow.

  6. Summer Camp Update

    7. Troop 142 will attend summer camp at Rodney Scout Reservation, July 1-7, 2012. Registration for summer camp began in January and there are 12 scouts on our summer camp roster. The required medical forms are available at http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HealthandSafety/ahmr.aspx Further details about summer camp will be forthcoming so continue to watch your email.   7. OA Weekend

    8. The Order of the Arrow (OA), Scouting's National Honor Society invites scouts from Troop 142 who were elected to OA in 2011, to attend the Octorara Lodge 22 Ordeal Weekend on June 1-3, 2012. Current members of OA are also encouraged to attend. http://octoraro22.org
